DALLAS - Fine Arts Chamber Players invites you to a FREE Bancroft Family Concert on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA). This concert features members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in a concert for strings and piano that will intrigue and delight the audience. Featured performers are Andrew Schast, violin; Pamela Askew, viola; Theodore Harvey, cello; Brian Perry, bass; and Steven Harlos, piano.
The concert features Claude Debussy’s Sonata in G minor for violin and piano, L 140; Duetto in D Major for cello and bass by Gioachino Rossini; and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Quintet in C minor for violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Written in 1903, this early quintet was not published in the composer’s lifetime. Instead, his widow gave the score to the British Library in 1958, but placed an embargo on its performance which was only lifted in the 1990s.
Future 2015-2016 season Bancroft Family Concerts include free performances on February 20, March 12, April 2 and May 14 at the Dallas Museum of Art.
